Crystalline structural phase transition - Quick Insulation
LTO has a crystallographic structure that acts as a semiconductor when fully charged and an insulator when empty.
If there is a short circuit, LTO material transitions from a semiconductor to an insulator synchronously. This unique property quickly breaks the circuit and prevents fire and explosions.
LTO MATERIAL WITH HIGH LITHIUM INTERCALATION POTENTIAL
No lithium dendrites
Unlike graphite, which has an embedded lithium potential of 0.15V, LTO has a higher potential of 1.55V. This prevents the formation of lithium dendrites, eliminating the safety risk of dendrites piercing the battery diaphragm and causing internal short circuits.
No SEI film formation
Due to the high intercalation lithium potential, the negative electrode of a LTO battery does not generate a solid electrolyte interface (SEI) film. Consequently, there is no risk of SEI film decomposition or the potential security threat at high temperatures (>60℃).
